Merpati Now Flies Makassar-Mamuju Route

MAMUJU, KOMPAS.com - Merpati Nusantara Airlines opened a new route from Makassar, South Sulawesi, to Mamuju, West Sulawesi, and flew a maiden flight with more than 30 passengers on board.

Merpati accounting manager Basuki said in Makassar on Sunday that for the time being there will be only one MA-60 with a capacity of 56 seats and three flights a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sunday, he said.

The opening of the route would obviously increase the number of investors to come to the region because transportation had been a serious problem to them. Now the air route is covered by Merpati Nusantara and Wings Airlines.
